BURR

A burr refers to the excess material that is pushed out by cutting tools during operations such as filing, drilling, turning, milling, and similar processes. The amount of burr formed depends on the material, machining speed, and the sharpness of the tool. Burrs tend to be more pronounced when cutting speeds are unsuitable or when the tool is no longer properly sharpened. Burrs are generally removed after machining through tribological methods or during finishing and decoration stages.
