KNOCK

Knock is a defect which appears when a watch has a too high amplitude.

When amplitude reaches 330 degrees, the roller-pin fixed on the balance axis will bounce off the outside of the fork of the pallets. This defect will create a strong disturbance in the setting and the watch will lose its precision.

The rebat sometimes appears when the lubrication of the slipping spring of an automatic watch becomes defective.
