TRIGGERING
This refers to the initiation of movement within a mechanism, either by releasing it from a blocked state or by coupling it to a source of energy. A typical example is the chronograph, whose mechanism is activated by the yoke. Triggering is also found in striking watches, referring to the moment when the striking mechanism is released.
