DRILLING-MACHINE

Hand drills also exist in watchmaking although they are rarely used. It is the column drills that are mainly used.

They often have a device to define a hole depth, which is very useful for blind holes.

These drill presses can drill holes up to 0.10 millimeters in diameter or even slightly smaller.

Like chisels, drills can be re-sharpened, usually with an india stone. This re-sharpening, respecting precise angles, is part of the work of the watchmaker.
