INERTIA BLOCK

A weight serving a dynamic function. In watchmaking, inertia blocks are mainly found in the form of screws or collets (most often made of gold). They are primarily used to adjust the poising and dynamic regulation of balance wheels and are generally positioned on the periphery or on the top of the balance rim.
