FOUDROYANTE (JUMPING SECOND)

The foudroyante, or jumping seconds hand, is a hand that makes one revolution in one second through a succession of jumps (between 4 and 10) determined by the frequency of the oscillator. It is generally associated with a chronograph. (Synonym: diablotine).
