COMPONENTS INVOLVED IN TIMING

The tools and machines required for adjustment operations are as follows:

  • Tweezers (standard, spiral, wooden, for collets, for marking spirals, 90° etc.)

  • Scriber

  • Spiral-cutting pliers

  • Figure-eight tool

  • Figure-eight tool for the balance

  • Riveting stand (and rivets)

  • Balancing bench

  • Collet tool

  • Press or tool for driving (for the collet)

  • Hammer

  • Support or paper with protractor

  • 2.5× magnifying glass

  • 12× magnifying glass

  • Press or counting device

  • Chrono-comparator

  • Milling cutter and mandrel for balance

  • Binocular microscope (not essential but recommended)

  • Brass pins (for collet and pivot)
