A FOUR-PART FILM SERIES EXPLORING THE ART OF TIMING ADJUSTMENT
To further expand its online encyclopaedia, Horopedia is releasing a series of four educational films dedicated to timing adjustment. Produced in collaboration with the Geneva Watchmaking School and the Neuchâtel Vocational Training Centre, these new resources provide a progressive introduction to one of the most demanding disciplines in watchmaking.
Timing adjustment is one of the most technically demanding operations in watchmaking. It encompasses all the operations involved in assembling and adjusting the regulating organ. The proper functioning and, above all, the accuracy of the timepiece depend on the precise execution of each of these steps.
As this is a particularly complex discipline, timing adjustment can be taught using different approaches. To provide consistent educational content that reflects the methods widely adopted by watchmaking schools, the Horopedia Foundation has based this series on the methodology presented in Le réglage, published by the Fédération des Écoles Techniques (FET).
To facilitate understanding, the subject has been divided into four episodes, demonstrated on a Caliber Unitas 6497 fitted with a flat hairspring with regulator and mobile stud carrier.

Produced in collaboration with the Geneva Watchmaking School and the Neuchâtel Vocational Training Centre, this series faithfully demonstrates highly technical watchmaking operations. It provides a valuable educational resource for students, teachers and all enthusiasts wishing to deepen their knowledge of watchmaking.

À PROPOS DE HOROPEDIA
La Fondation Horopedia a été créée en février 2023 et a reçu le statut d’intérêt public. Le Conseil de la Fondation est composé de Philippe Dufour (Président), du Dr Helmut Crott, d’André Colard et de Marc André Deschoux.
La Fondation gère Horopedia.org, la première encyclopédie vidéo en ligne sur l’horlogerie. La plateforme a été lancée en 2022 et a rapidement reçu un soutien unanime au sein de la communauté.
À ce jour, plus de 100 films documentaires multilingues sur les musées, les écoles d’horlogerie, les outils et composants horlogers, et les principes mécaniques derrière leur fonctionnement peuvent être trouvés sur Horopedia.org. Pour renforcer sa mission éducative, la plateforme intègre également des supports pédagogiques visuels pour faciliter une meilleure compréhension des informations fournies. Le site propose près de 1000 pages avec des définitions détaillées des termes horlogers et des anecdotes historiques sur les inventions horlogères significatives.
Horopedia.org couvre méticuleusement tous les aspects de l’industrie horlogère fascinante en français, en anglais et en allemand. Il propose des définitions détaillées des outils et des complications, des images 3D des mouvements, et des explications vidéo approfondies sur la production des composants, leur histoire et leurs fonctions dans une montre. Une section dédiée du site répertorie les institutions horlogères, y compris les écoles et les musées en Suisse et dans le monde entier.
Plus récemment, la Fondation a dévoilé son ambitieux projet : la Maison des Arts & de la Culture Horlogère (MACH). Plus qu’un musée, la MACH sera un lieu vivant d’exposition, de transmission et d’échanges autour de l’art horloger. Installée au coeur du Quartier des Banques, cette maison de 1’250 m² s’étendra sur quatre étages, proposant des expositions didactiques, thématiques et chronologiques, complétées par un espace consacré aux expositions temporaires. Les visiteurs pourront également profiter d’une boutique, d’un auditorium et de divers espaces interactifs conçus pour éveiller la curiosité et favoriser la découverte. Ouverte et animée, la MACH a pour vocation de devenir le carrefour de l’horlogerie à Genève.
