Horopedia Foundation, for the second time, is participating in EPHJ, a professional trade show for high precision, watchmaking and jewellery subcontracting, microtechnology, and the medical industry. On June 14th, the Foundation will host a special event to present its achievements, new videos, and future projects.
Horopedia Foundation governs Horopedia.org, the first online video encyclopedia on watchmaking. The platform was launched in 2022 and quickly gathered unanimous support within the community. In the world of watches and precision mechanisms, it stands out as a comprehensive source of intelligence for the entire horological ecosystem, showcasing an innovative approach to preserving and sharing watchmaking expertise.
Horopedia.org meticulously covers all facets of the fascinating horological industry in French, English, and German. It offers detailed definitions of tools and complications, 3D images of movements, and thorough video explanations of component production, their history, and functions in a watch. A dedicated section of the website lists horological institutions, including schools and museums in Switzerland and worldwide.
Since its inception, Horopedia has published over 30 multilingual documentary films on museums, watchmaking schools, watch tools and components, and the mechanical principles behind their work. To enhance its educational mission, the platform also incorporates visual pedagogic materials to facilitate a better understanding of the provided information. The website features nearly 900 pages with detailed definitions of watchmaking terms and historical anecdotes about significant horological inventions.

ABOUT EPHJ
Every year EPHJ welcomes professionals from the high-precision watchmaking, jewellery, medical and microtechnology industry. The 22nd edition of the Salon takes place in Geneva from June 11 to 14 and is expected to host more than 800 participating brands.
ABOUT HOROPEDIA
Horopedia Foundation was established in February 2023 and given the status of public interest. Its goal is to contribute to the long-term success and visibility of the watch industry by sharing with the help of modern technologies the horological knowledge, know-how, and technical and artistic skills accumulated over the years, as well as those in the making. The Foundation Council is composed of Philippe Dufour (President), Dr. Helmut Crott, André Colard, and Marc André Deschoux.
